Performance makeup is an essential part of putting on a professional concert.
At Off Centre, our shows are elevated with elements like stage lighting, large screens, and high-quality video production — all of which impact how performers appear to the audience.
Wearing stage makeup is necessary for
all students when performing. Strong stage lighting tends to wash out natural facial features, which can affect how dancers look both on stage and in the final concert footage.
For our Minis, makeup is not about making them look older — it’s about gently enhancing their features so that their expressions can be seen clearly from the audience. Without this, we often just see a gorgeous costume paired with a washed-out face, which can detract from their performance moment.
More importantly, applying makeup can help our little performers feel “show ready” and part of the magic of being on stage.
Thank you for helping us bring their performance to life in the best possible way!
For our concert Mini's will need to wear their hair in two piggy tails either side of the head. Please make sure hair is neat and tidy.
Please make sure the hair is tight and slick with no fly aways.
Please use a hair tie that is close to the colour of your childs hair.
For the concert day our Mini's will need to wear light stage make up.
A light base of foundation. (BB Cream is acceptable)
Brown base eye shadow.
Light amount of black mascara
Red Lipstick (best to wait until the last minute for this part)
Please remember when applying foundation you want to have the correct shade for your Mini’s skin tone. Please make sure you blend into their neck also. If you have any troubles with make-up please notify us, there will be a lot of people who can lend a hand.
