Performance makeup. Yes.
When doing a performance to the level of an Off Centre Dance Co show there are elements such as lighting and LED screens which play a big part in the overall look of the show.
Wearing stage make up is necessary for all students when performing on stage. The strong stage lighting will wash out the complexion of our performers for both the live show and also the video memory created along with the show.
The goal of wearing makeup is not to make your performer look older or more mature... It's there to frame their facial features. If we do not take this important step in performing we will only see a cute costume with a washed out complexion. This also really helps our cast members feel "performance ready".
Students will need to wear their hair in a stacked pony tail with multiple elastics. The pony elastic stack is then wrapped with black electrical tape. Please make sure your hair is neat and tidy.
Hair is to be tight and slick with no fly aways, the use of hairspray and gel can help a lot with this.
Please use hair tie colours that are close to the colour of your hair so if there is any sticking out of the tape it is non visible.
Male Students: Hair is to be neat and styled ready for the stage
Foundation, please make sure it is suitable for your skin tone (usually one shade darker is great) and blends into the neck.
